Nagy & Sons vineyards is a small-scale family-run winery located in a protected area in the Kunsági Borvidék/wine region in southern Hungary. Wine has been produced in the sand dunes of the Hungarian Puszta/Plains for hundreds of years. The sea bed of the former Pannonian Sea offers ideal conditions for wine growing and the abundant sunlight ripens the grapes in an optimal way.The wine estate spreads over 3 hectares. The century old vineyard and its old farmhouse have been brought back to life and was replanted between 2011 and 2013.The Nagy family has mixed Hungarian and Flemish roots. Father Peter and son Simon both graduated as wine engineers and specialize in Caucasian winemaking methods in Qvevris/Amphorae. We produce Qvevri wine in amphorae according to the world's oldest wine making technique and wine in wooden barrels. We consciously choose authenticity, to respect the soul of winemaking and the pure taste of wine. The grapes, grown without the use of pesticides, are picked and processed by hand. Nagy & Sons Vineyards opts for natural fermentation without addition of enzymes. Addition of sulphites is kept to a minimum.
